Did you know that National Zoo Keeper Week is coming up on July 20-26? Whats a better way to celebrate with a review and giveaway for two products that celebrate zoos as well as zoo keepers and their
dedication to animal care, conservation and education! Recently Lydia received two books for review and she loves them! The first one is The Zoo is Closed Today written by Evelyn Beilenson, illustrated by Anne Kennedy.
This book is completely adorable!
Check out what it is all about:
It was a warm sunny day with not much to do. So Sue and John walked to the Kalamazoo. But when John and Sue arrive at the zoo, they are in for a big surprise! What is wrong with all of the animals? From Edward the elephant to Marcel the monkey, the animals have tummy aches and toothaches, runny noses and sore throats. Pete the zookeeper can barely keep up with taking care of them and has to close the zoo. And the next day, John and Sue are in for an even bigger surprise! This charming tale, illustrated with humor and warmth, demonstrates the value of sweet friendship. Check out her cute video below!

Lydia has read it several times. She loved the book and loved what it was about. She has read it about 3 times since we have had it! I love how adorable the story is. After Lydia read it she wanted to go to the zoo of course. The other item that she received is this adorable At The Zoo Scratch & Sketch: An Art Activity Book for Animal Lovers by Lee Nemmers, illustrated by Martha Day Zschock.
This book includes
a wooden stylus for drawing on black-coated paper to reveal glittering,
gleaming colors beneath, wire-o-bound hardcover binding and 20 scratch
off, 20
illustrated and 20 sketch pages.
The book has pages with animal print, glitter, and more! I love that it is completely educational and fun!
Something completely adorable about this book is it has pages with lions, tigers, bears, seals, and more- but beside each scratch page, it tells cute facts about the animal that she is getting ready to scratch off! It is super cute when she runs to me to tell me what she has learned!
Both books can be purchase from Peter Paper Press for the ARV $32. to refresh your memory- Peter Pauper Press is of America’s leading publishers of fine gift books,

ReplyDeleteWe've been to the zoo once. Ri was only about 8 months old at the time, & I was a few months along in my pregnancy with Kai. She was too young to know what the animals were, but she loved the goat petting zoo & the giraffe feeding area. It was a blast!
